December Shenanigans!

December has been a crazy month with Jett's baptism, Christmas parties, and shopping and all the other activities we have had to get done!!! Having said that we have definitely had to take a step back from some of that to make time for some fun family time! We decided to carry on our tradition of making gingerbread houses, but this time we did a whole little village and I think the boys ate their share in the icing!

The kids did a great job and the gingerbread village turned out AWESOME!!

On December 14 it finally decided to snow over here in Brigham! I am not the biggest fan of the snow and the cold but... we make the best out of it!! What do you do to make the best out of it?? You take the kids sledding of course!!! We packed up the boys in all of their snow gear and headed to a little snow hill!! They were so excited!

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST....... THIS MAY BE MY NEW FAVORITE PICTURE!!!!
I am so grateful for this amazing family that I get to call mine and for the fun memories that we are making! We can not wait to be able to add another little cutie to our family and share with them our love and fun times!!!!!!

I like to look for rainbows....

On December 5 Jettsen chose to be baptized! He has been so excited and working so hard to memorize articles of faith and do the things he needs to, to prepare for his big day!! He asked Jason to baptize him, uncle Jeremy, and uncle Josh were the witnesses. Right after the baptism he had his confirmation! It was such a great day and he had the support of so many friends and family which made it even more special! After we stayed in the church and had everyone else stay as well for soup and rolls and cake! I am so proud of my little man and the decision he made to be baptized and become a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints!

We are so THANKFUL

Thanksgiving snuck up on us and we were so excited to share it with Jason's side of the family this year, it is always such a party when we all get together with all the cousins!! We are so insanely blessed with the best family! We woke up that day and got all that we needed to bring cooked and got the kids all ready! Owen was so excited to eat him some turkey, I think it is all we heard about for the whole week. So it was a stinking good thing when the day finally came!
We got all ready and attempted a family picture, with Maisy even! it was a lot harder than I thought it was going to be and most of our pictures turned out like this....

We then headed out the door to our trip to Grandma and Poppas! Which is really only a half hour away but when you are with 3 excited little boys feels like a lifetime!
Grandma had the tables all ready to go including a tiny table for Cole and Avi, they are only 2 weeks apart and the bestest friends!

We all got our eating on and within ten minutes all the kids had lost interest in the food and were too excited to get together and play! Grandma had set up a ping pong game in her basement where she had filled cups with prizes, if the kids could bounce the ball in the cup they would win the prize that was in that cup! the kids thought this was great and we literally didn't see them for a couple hours!

As for us "adults" we sat around learning new games.. having interesting conversations about games when we were younger and other things that were questionable and enjoying each others company! can I just tell you how grateful I am to have a family who gets along so well!!

and that was our lovely thanksgiving, I have so much to be thankful for, my family, friends, health, our neighborhood, home, the gospel, the list goes on and on and on!
Jettsen also had his first pack meeting for scouts! He was so darn excited and I was so happy for him although through the whole thing I had to hold back my tears.. only for the fact of, where did my baby go?? He is so happy that the scout master is Uncle Josh and that he gets to start working on his pinewood derby car!

And while I am on the subject of Jett I want to document a funny incident! Today Jett had his bishop interview for his baptism, the bishop was going over everything and was telling Jett how he needed to be fully submerged for it to count.. well as we were leaving the church Jett turned to Jason and says.. "If you drown me at my baptism, when I am resurrected the first thing I am going to do when I come back is ... punch you in the face!" we laughed way too hard at that one! I love my silly boys!

8 is GREAT

On November 19 Jettsen turned 8 years old... It is still so hard for me to believe that the little boy who made me a mommy turned 8! Jettsen is such a sweet little boy, he is very in tune to others and their feelings. He is kind and understanding, cuddly a big help and a great example to those who he is around. I remember very well the day he was born. we were so nervous and so very excited, we were induced at 37 weeks due to some pregnancy problems and went in at 9 am to be induced and at 10 pm Jett was born! He has brought so much joy ever since then!

On the morning of Jett's birthday he came into mine and Jason's room bright and early and brought in his present and was ready to open it, Jason and I told him he needed to wait till after school but the boy was very convincing and talked us into opening it right then!

This year Jason and I got him some GI Joes for his present! Right after school Grandma Dixie and Grandpa Kent came to wish Jett a Happy Birthday!

We had decided earlier on that since he was going to have his baptism a couple of weeks after his birthday and that we would have a big party then that we wouldn't have a big friend/family birthday on his actual birthday. But again Jason and I are pretty big suckers and decided that we would have him take a few friends to the movie Goosebumps on his birthday, so after school we went and picked up 3 cute friends and headed to the movies!

Can I just say how happy it makes me that we live in a place where there are so many cute kids and my kids are able to make and have such great friends! After the movie we headed back to our house for some cake and ice cream!

Papa Scott was going to be gone to Mexico for work for Jettsens birthday so they had Jett over the weekend before and Grandma made Jett some birthday cupcakes and gave him presents! He was so excited to get his Lego wrestling ring and a Scout shirt... how is my baby old enough for scouts???

All in all I think Jettsen had a great birthday and will be so excited to celebrate again on December 5 when he is baptized! which you just wait I am going to be a mess! Why do they have to grow so darn fast!

Our own little ZOO

Every year Jason and I purchase a year membership to Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake, our boys are huge fans of the animals and getting out in some fresh air and lets be honest Jason and I are huger fans of watching our boys run around and being so excited as they see the different animals!
Jason works for the state of Utah so he gets most of the holidays off, so when Veterans day rolled around we decided we would take the day to do a family excursion to the zoo! We pulled the boys out of school and hour early and headed to Salt Lake!
It was a beautiful day for the zoo, it was a little chilly but no one else was really there so the boys could run around and we were still able to keep tabs on all them and just kind of sit back and watch their excitement!

The boys were so funny and want to know everything about the animals. they love to ask the zoo employees questions, like why the giraffes weren't out, why the monkeys eat from their hands, etc. etc. I seriously could just watch them figure out stuff all day!!

The elephants were out and playing and we stayed there to watch them for quite some time, the boys were all amazed how they were able to use their trunks like fingers to pick up their food!

There was a new baby orangutan that we all sat and watched for a really long time, it is so funny to see my boys with babies. they were all super excited and trying to talk to the cute little baby in their best high pitched baby talk!

I am super grateful for these sweet boys of mine and the opportunity that we have to be able to spend time as a family doing things, I am most grateful for Jason and for his desire to spend any time that he has free with our boys! They look up to their dad so much and love to spend time with him! It makes my heart so happy to see their sweet relationship!

Momma Was in Charge

Last week Jason had a work conference in Provo for a couple of days so it was just me and the boys! Monday we all went about our business with school and wrestling practice the day went great and we were all happy. Then Tuesday came I got the big boys ready for school got them out the door Cole was complaining off and on of not feeling too well so there was a lot of snuggling and Netflix. I got up for about 10 minutes to do some laundry came upstairs and I am not joking you. There was dog throw up what seemed like ALL over! I have no clue what happened but I am about 99.9% sure it had something to do with Halloween being last week and the extra candy. Our poor Maisy. I spent literally a couple of hours mopping and shampooing carpets... All I have to say is it is a darn good thing she is cute!!  I ran and picked up the big boys and Owen was complaining of a headache and tummy ache... of course since dad was gone!
I got the boys all ready for bed and I'll just say there was not much sleeping with my little sickies, so the next morning I had them all stay home from school. I am not going to lie, I probably enjoyed it a bit too much. I love having them home.

I was upstairs getting some of my stuff done and they all ran up and were so proud that they had built this awesome fort down in the basement! I am not going to lie... It was pretty cool with the tunnel going into it!!
After they got done with that they wanted to work on Perler beads! Those things will keep these boys busy forever, we spent a lot of the summer making different creations with them so it was fun to pull them back out!!
I seriously love the concentration that goes on when they do this!
There must have just been a little 24 hour thing going around because they were totally fine the next morning and were able to go back to their normal routine! I loved my day with them but was glad they were able to go back to their regular routine!
Jason got back later on Tuesday and the boys and myself were so glad to have him back!
On Thursday night we rented Inside Out and had a little family night watching that and having a "picnic" on the family room floor. The boys wanted Pizza so that was what we went with!

It is so fun to watch how the boys love these thing that to us aren't big things but to them they just love it and soak it all in. They are such sweet little things and make my heart so happy!! The weekend flew right by us on Saturday Jason took Owen to Logan to his wrestling meet. He did so well and wrestled his little heart out. I had to miss this one, Jettsen had basketball practice at the same time so Cole and I took him to that. It is so fun to watch the boys learn new things and pick up new skills and hobbies! While they had all the little kids in the circle doing their stretches Cole was on the side lines copying them doing his own little stretches! This little boy is ready for this spring when he finally able to start up doing soccer! and I can't watch him too! I am so grateful for my life and can't wait to add another little to our family!
